Veterinarians
Dr. James Greenwell, DVM
Dr. James Greenwell graduated from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. He’s known for saying he wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of three—and that passion has never wavered. While earning his doctorate, he also had the unique opportunity to conduct research on dolphins and whales, further deepening his love for animal care.
After graduating, Dr. Greenwell worked for three years under the guidance of a trusted mentor, saving diligently with the dream of opening his own hospital. That dream became a reality in July 1991, when he opened his first veterinary practice. It was during this time that he met his lovely wife, Elizabeth, and they were married in 1994. In July 2010, Dr. Greenwell founded Russell Creek Pet Clinic & Hospital, where many long-time clients followed him, and new relationships with families and their pets began to flourish.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Greenwell enjoys spending time with Elizabeth and their three children—Jamie, Jackie, and Johnathan. He takes great pride in the family they’ve raised. Their children, inspired by their parents’ dedication and values, have gone on to pursue advanced degrees, including medical school and master’s programs, with the goal of making their own impact in the human medical field.
Dr. Greenwell’s influence extends far beyond his own family. Over the years, he has inspired and mentored numerous employees, many of whom have gone on to attend veterinary school or pursue other remarkable careers. His commitment to lifelong learning keeps him at the forefront of veterinary medicine—especially when it comes to adopting new technologies. He performs all the hospital’s laser surgeries, which are used to reduce inflammation and promote healing, and he is constantly exploring the best and most innovative ways to care for his patients.
With more than three decades of experience, a deep love for animals, and a passion for teaching and mentoring, Dr. James Greenwell continues to lead Russell Creek Pet Clinic & Hospital with heart, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in veterinary care.
Dr. Patrick Champlin, DVM
Dr. Patrick Champlin graduated from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Shortly after graduation, he opened his own practice—North Midway Animal Hospital—where he spent decades providing exceptional veterinary care and building strong relationships with his clients and their pets.
During veterinary school, Dr. Champlin formed a lasting friendship with Dr. James Greenwell, and when it came time to retire in 2020, Dr. Greenwell invited him to join the team at Russell Creek Pet Clinic & Hospital as a second veterinarian. Dr. Champlin now works three days a week and has since become a pillar of the practice.
With unmatched expertise in internal medicine and a calm, compassionate approach, Dr. Champlin is widely respected for his ability to diagnose and treat complex cases. His passion for veterinary medicine is deeply rooted in a belief that he is here to speak for the animals and advocate for them when they cannot speak for themselves.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Champlin is an avid cyclist and enjoys sailing in his free time. He shares his home with his wife, Sheryl, and their four beloved pets: Malachi, Monkey, Munchkin, and Sammy.
Dr. Champlin’s passion, drive, and decades of experience continue to inspire the entire Russell Creek team. We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a knowledgeable and dedicated veterinarian who brings heart and wisdom to everything he does.
Practice Manager
Kelly Castles
Kelly Castles has been a valued member of the Russell Creek Pet Clinic team since 2015. Her career in veterinary medicine began in 2010 as a kennel attendant, and her dedication and skill quickly advanced her into assistant and technician roles. Over the years, Kelly gained experience at multiple animal hospitals across the U.S., adapting to each new environment while deepening her expertise in patient care and hospital operations.
After studying at Texas State University and serving as both a technician and hospital manager near Wimberley, Texas, Kelly returned to the DFW area and joined Dr. Greenwell’s team. Within six months, her leadership and commitment to excellence earned her the position of hospital manager.
Kelly has had a deep love for animals since childhood and originally planned to attend veterinary school. However, after her mother became ill in 2015, she chose to shift her path to prioritize family—while remaining in a field she is truly passionate about. Her compassion, experience, and dedication continue to make a meaningful impact at Russell Creek Pet Clinic every day.
In her personal life, Kelly married her husband Graham in 2023. Together, they share their home with two beloved dogs: Dixie, a sweet senior Lab mix, and Booker, an energetic two-year-old Golden Retriever. As they work toward starting their own human family, Kelly and Graham both share a strong commitment to personal and professional growth, always striving to uplift those around them. Kelly is especially passionate about improving the lives of her team and ensuring every pet that walks through the doors of Russell Creek receives the highest standard of care.

Peyton Pruitt
Peyton has been a dedicated veterinary technician for over eight years, with the past six proudly spent as part of the Russell Creek Pet Clinic team. Several years into her tenure, Peyton was promoted to Lead Veterinary Technician, a role that reflects her expertise, leadership, and unwavering commitment to both patient care and team support.
Her passion for animals has been a lifelong calling, and she feels incredibly grateful to have turned that love into a fulfilling career. Peyton is not only committed to providing exceptional care for pets but also to educating clients—helping them better understand and support their furry family members.
Her journey in veterinary medicine has been shaped and strengthened by the unwavering support of her family, who have encouraged her every step of the way. At home, Peyton is surrounded by a lively and loving group of animals. She shares her life with 10 pets, including three Australian Shepherds—Levi, Vortex, and Kai; a Great Pyrenees named Trigger; a Great Dane mix named Willow; two Chihuahuas, Lexi and Skylar; two cats, Atlas and Maribel; and a precious prairie dog named Timon.
Outside of work, Peyton cherishes spending time with her husband, Mikie, and their two children, Sawyer and Wrenleigh. Watching her children grow into their unique selves has been one of the greatest joys of her life. Motherhood holds special meaning for Peyton, as she overcame one of her biggest life challenges—being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 18. She considers becoming a mother her greatest accomplishment and credits her strength and resilience to the love and support of her family, both two- and four-legged.

At home, Darien shares life with a small but lively animal family: Ivy, a beloved Chihuahua; Whiskey, a playful Hound mix; Finn, a cheerful Cockatiel; and Tango, a curious Leopard Gecko.

Jordan Rosenhoover
Jordan has been a valued member of the Russell Creek team since 2021. She began her journey as a Kennel Assistant and, through hard work and dedication, earned her way into the role of Veterinary Technician.
Jordan’s passion for animals began early—growing up around cutting horses and actively participating in her high school FFA team. These experiences taught her the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and compassionate care, all of which she brings to her role today. She continues to grow her skills and is committed to supporting pets and their families through every stage of care. Her fun, goofy, and patient personality makes her a favorite among clients and a true asset to the team.
Outside of work, Jordan loves exploring the outdoors, reading with her two dogs by her side, and trying new restaurants. She also cherishes spending time with her mom, brother, and new nephew.

Katie Hanna
Katherine “Katie” is a proud member of Texas A&M’s Class of 2025, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science — WHOOP! She first joined Russell Creek in 2020 during her senior year of high school and has remained a dedicated part of the team ever since, working seasonally throughout her time at A&M. After graduation, Katie returned full-time as our Technician Assistant and Kennel Supervisor, where she brings her passion for animal care, leadership, and teamwork to ensure every pet lives its happiest, healthiest life.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys cheering on Aggie football, going on nature walks, diving into a good book, and (she admits) spending a little too much time on Pinterest. At home, she shares her life with Yoshi, her spoiled grey tabby who loves the outdoors almost as much as he loves new toys and treats.
Katie is known for her can-do attitude and relentless work ethic. “I don’t know” isn’t in her vocabulary—only “yes” and “I’ll find out.” She’s always eager to learn and grow, and over the years has truly embraced Russell Creek’s core values. Katie consistently goes above and beyond for patients, clients, and her fellow teammates, making her a trusted and irreplaceable part of our clinic family.

She spent three years teaching high school biology and anatomy before deciding to pursue a career in physical therapy. Jackie is Dr. Greenwell’s middle child and has truly been a part of the hospital since the beginning. She was lucky to grow up spending time at the clinic and working alongside her father, whom she dearly looks up to.
In August 2024, Jackie returned to Russell Creek Pet Clinic full time, bringing with her a deep love for animals and a strong background in science and education.
